Family Yoga – Harry Potter Style!!!

This family yoga class will celebrate the wonderful wizarding world of Harry Potter!

Act out the story of the Sorcerer’s Stone in yoga poses beginning with Happy Baby Harry and Lighting Warrior.   Grab your invitation to Hogwarts, Ride on the Hogwarts Express train through the mountains. Which house will you be sorted into? Are you a brave Gryffindor Lion or a wise Ravenclaw Eagle? We’ll learn how to ride a broom and use our magic wands to levitate our family members and much more!

Bring a sense of adventure, and perhaps a wand or magical cape if you have one!

Best for ages 6 and up.

Discover Your Power Animal – An Introduction to Shamanic Journeying

Shamans have long believed their powers were the powers of the animals, of the plants, of the sun, of the basic energies of the universe. These powers help to provide strength in daily life and to live joyfully in community with the natural world. In the shamanic cultures, it is believed that when we are born, the spirit of at least one animal volunteers itself to protect and guide us throughout our life – this is our power animal.

In this workshop, you will be introduced to the principals of shamanism and discover your power animal by being guided through a shamanic state of consciousness through rhythmic drumming. There will be opportunities to explore and express your journey through movement, discussion, and mindful journaling.

Please bring a rattle or drum, an eye cover and a journal.

Belly Dancing

Experience the joy of belly dance with Jessica!

Whether you are new to the world of middle eastern dance, or looking to brush up on your skills, this class is for you. Learn to connect with your body in a brand new way. During this class, participants will be lead through drills to hone techniques of the most common movements. The basics for all facets of middle eastern dance styles will also be covered – including American Cabaret, Raqs Sharqui, and fusion dance!

No experience is necessary for this fun, low-impact dance class. Be ready to strengthen your core and let your hips loose! Hip scarves will be provided.

Highland Sutra Circle

The intention of the Sutra Circle is to explore the myriad principles of yoga philosophy through various works of fiction and non-fiction and to learn how to weave these powerful principles into our contemporary lifestyles. No experience of yoga or yoga philosophy is necessary to participate. Our next circle will review The Untethered Soul by Michael A. Singer.

Tween Yogis/Yoginis will enjoy a variety of poses presented traditionally and through stories, music and games. The connection between movement and breath as well as age-appropriate breath work will be introduced as a means to empower students with the ability to focus and find calm. Whether practicing individually, with a partner, or as a group, our tweens will develop strength, flexibility, and a life-long love for yoga!!.

Cost: $150 for full 10 week series/$18 drop-in per class (space permitting)

Kundalini Yoga, brought to the West in 1969 by Yogi Bhajan, is known as the Yoga of Awareness.  Kundalini yoga uses physical postures (Asana), breathwork (Pranayama), Chanting (Mantra), Body Locks (Bhandas), Hand Gestures (Mudras) and Meditation throughout the practice.  Kundalini Yoga is done in sets or kriyas that are designed to work towards a specific outcome.
