Alignment refers to the optimal placement of the physical body and the corresponding muscular engagements that enable practitioners to benefit fully and safely from a practice of physical postures (asana). Props such as straps and blocks may be used to accentuate a particular aspect of alignment and deepen your understanding of the asana. Breathing and meditation techniques may also be offered to align body and mind as each move toward a balance of strength and flexibility.
A mixed level class is suitable for students of various experience levels. Offerings and explorations will move beyond that typically found in a beginner class, and may include arm balances as well as inversions. Modifications of postures will be available to make asana more accessible, and more advanced variations will be offered for those seeking an appropriately challenging practice.
