 How Yoga Works

With John Cerullo and Clare Cerullo

1st and 3rd Tuesdays

October 7 and 21

November 4 and 18

December 2 and 16

7:30 to 9pm

Pre-requisite: Read How Yoga Works

Course Description

The class as a group will read, explore, and discuss the celebrated book How Yoga Works. The main focus of the class teaches us how to develop our own meditation toolbox that is the perfect compliment to our yoga practice, as well as a series of specific asana practices to go along with our “toolbox.” These are all revealed in How Yoga Works.

Over a series of classes held 1st and 3rd Tuesdays, we will present and demonstrate in detail various meditations and asanas. Through our readings, we will unfold the practices that are experienced by the characters that populate the story of How Yoga Works — Friday, the Captain, the Sergeant, and, of course, Long-Life — who take us on an extraordinary journey, revealing how yoga really works and how to incorporate meditation and specific asana practices into our lives. By experiencing what these characters did, we can take our yoga practice to new and exciting places of immense joy and happiness.
