Always interested in the idea of being as fit and healthy as possible throughout her adult life, Barbara has remained physically active, practicing and teaching aerobics and Tap and participating in all kinds of fitness classes.
Several injuries, loss of flexibility, and a belief that she needed something more led to her first Yoga class some 10 years ago right here at Highland Yoga. By the 4th or 5th class she was hooked! But she wanted a deeper understanding of the Yoga journey so she signed up for a 36 hour Intro to Anusara with John Levis. Desire for further emotional and intellectual enrichment led to additional exploration: a 200 hr. RYT teacher training with Carolyn and Stephen (at Highland Yoga). And now she is looking forward to her 300 hr. RYT training in January, 2016.
The Yoga experience is diverse and extensively rewarding. It tends to nurture the many facets that our lives can have and bring those parts into a harmonious balance. For Barbara, being able to share her love of Yoga through teaching has enriched her life in ways she never imagined.
